It can be tricky to get your head around all the potential ways of connecting your smartphone, mp3 player, tablet or memory stick to your car. Don't worry though - we are here to help! This guide will help you understand the various options, including how they work, what features they offer and their drawbacks.

Modern cars generally provide several connection possibilities - the most common being AUX Inputs, USB Inputs and Bluetooth®. From 2014 some select models are also being fitted with mobile operating systems such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or MirrorLink™. If you have an older model there are other options including FM transmitters, tape adapters or even new stereo head-units. Often cars have multiple connections fitted together, so you can always choose the one that works best for you.
